Che

This photo was taken by me (it’s a selfie). It shows me with two of my very good friends, “Che” and “Cofla”. Cofla is my neighbor and Che lives in Mendoza, Argentina, but in our school days we were classmates, until 2014, when Che moved to Argentina.

This photo was taken in August 2015, when my friend Che just arrived from his old location, Buenos Aires. I really like it because it represents our meeting after a year of separation since he moved to Argentina, their original country. In that day, a lot of friends reunited to see Che after a long time of separation, so we celebrated a lot in a park of Ñuñoa, called Juan XXIII. We got some speakers so we have a very nice party.

Che is a very close friend to me, so when we meet is like if time had not passed
Curiously, he told me today that he is coming tomorrow in a very short trip of 2-3 days, so we can see each other once again after the moment of the photo.

The Lifesaver

Music is like one of the most important things of my life. I listen to music every time I can. It makes me feel completely.
I like many music genres like rock, cumbia and almost all of the Latin music, and the most of the artists that I listen are Chilean. But the music that I most like is RAP. Rap is a combination of Lexical skills and nice beats. Instead of what a lot of people think, rap really requires being very creative for telling a story. The rappers outstands because their high velocity and skills to combine words and make it senses, and the Dj’s job is sampling some old or new songs and create new rhythms. The sampling perfectly can be considerate like a rescue of the old culture and also demonstrates respect for the artist of the past.
Last Friday, I went to SFDK’s concert, a Spanish rap group. They are pioneers on Spanish-speaking rap. SFDK specially outstands by their live show, and it was demonstrated past Friday.
I download and save all of my music on my pc, my iPod and my cellphone to. I like the idea of save it and not just listen it, is like a treasure for me. I also bought and received some CD’s, I have my own collection, which of course includes some raps CD’s.
If I were a song, I would be “Jardín del desdén”, a very deep-feeling song which mixes rap, jazz and lexical skills. Cevladé, the author, is a language teacher that uses many references of writers like Rimbaud, Baudelaire and Poe troughs this entire career.
I only know to play the flute, and I also tried with the guitar, not much successfully. However, I can read music. I’m not quite good to sing, but I do it anyway because I enjoy it. I’m not just sing karaoke in the shower, I also listen music in the shower, either with my phone or my speakers.
Also, talking about rap, it was born in the Bronx, a very poor and hopeless neighborhood, where people can’t buy expensive instruments, so their only chance is just make noises with their mouth and hands and clap to make their rhythm. Music in general and Rap particularly, is very important to the society and culture, because without Hip-Hop, probably much people where now dead or selling drugs. Rap save a lot of lifes of people that found another way to fight their poverty, the talent to make rhymes, not only in the Bronx but all over the world.

The Ipod

My favorite piece of technology is my iPod. It’s a high fidelity music player, and in there I can store about 2000 songs. I got it this Summer, after my pay day for Christmas work. I use it all days, mainly for travels in bike and also in bus or metro travels. I like it because I can store (not all but) a lot of my music, so I never get the problem of get bored because having a few songs. And also I like because I love to listen music. I can spend all the day listening and looking for new artists, it’s one of my favorite hobbies so I do it every time I can. Finally, my life without my iPod would be so sad because I couldn’t listen to music much as I like. Music is like therapy like me, it can relaxes me or it can excites me. At the end of the day, it’s a part of me.

Why I Choose Psychology?

When I was a child I wanted to have a lot of jobs at the future, but when I was about 15 or 16 I realized that I would like to be a footballer. Unfortunately, it was too late for me, I should have started my football career many years earlier looking for have any chance.

After that, influenced by my family, I wanted to become an engineer but in high school, I had a psychology class, in which I developed my liking of this career. In the last year of high school, I decided to study psychology. The other chances included sociology, thinking in an internal change of career.

My experience at university until now was pretty good. I made some good friends, with which usually hang out, study and work in groups, and we have very good marks so far.

I don’t know exactly what kind of job I would like to have, but the most important thing is that I will like what I’m doing, so I will never get bored.
