In Preintermediate English, we practice a
little bit of grammar, vocabulary and a lot of speaking and pronunciation,
which is important because it’s not typical skills that you trained at school.
In a typical class we discuss about any topic,
but always giving opinion or finding new and different ways to express a thing.
The teacher explains ways to say or giving an opinion and then we discuss in
pairs or in small groups.
In the last classes, we are discussing about
gender and stereotypes in the society. I think that is very good that this
discussion is given in that subject, because in the future you can argue with
people of another country about that, and English subjects are commonly
characterized by treating eclectic topics, thing that I don’t like.
I enjoy this subject because it’s a place where
you can explain yourself and talk about your feelings, thoughts or points of
views, in spite of the other subjects, in which you only repeat and repeat all
the time. This subject also teaches you how to express yourself in other
language, which is always positive.
Other important point is that because they are
few students in the classroom, the class is more customed and also lets and
makes you get involved to it. Also the few classmates make the place more cohesive
and familiar.
At the end of the day, it’s a good experience
in which you can met new classmates and know better the older ones at the same
time that you are learning a new language.
